At Inner Wheel Australia there’s always something happening to engage and inspire our members.
Our activities are designed to bring women together through shared interests, community service, and personal growth. From monthly meetings and social events to special projects and charitable initiatives, members have countless opportunities to get involved, connect, and make a difference.

Club Meetings
Where the friendships are built
Clubs usually get together once a month, often over a relaxed lunch or dinner. It’s a time to catch up on club activities, share updates, and sometimes enjoy a talk from an interesting guest speaker.
But it’s not all business—these meetings are also a great opportunity for members to connect, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether discussing projects or simply catching up, the spirit of camaraderie and friendship is always at the heart of these gatherings.

Fostering relationships
Clubs often host fun coffee mornings or social events, and some even have walking or book groups to bring members together. Others focus on creative efforts, like sewing or knitting for special projects.
All members have also the opportunity to make contact with other members world wide either through their club or individually. Clubs can support various international projects.

All clubs are proud to support our National Project, and many also have their own special causes they champion.
Many clubs also support important local organizations such as food banks, women’s shelters, and soup kitchens, lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed. There’s always something meaningful and engaging happening, with plenty of ways for members to get involved.

Conference
Each year in October, Inner Wheel Australia hosts a national conference, bringing together members from all over the country. This exciting event offers a unique opportunity for women to gather, share ideas, and strengthen bonds of friendship. The conference is filled with informative sessions, inspiring talks, and plenty of fun social activities, making it a perfect blend of learning and connection.
Beyond the formal agenda, the conference allows members to exchange experiences, celebrate achievements, and gain new perspectives on how to enhance their service efforts. It’s a time for reflection, rejuvenation, and motivation, leaving everyone energized to continue making a difference in their communities.
Inner Wheel
Conventions
International Inner Wheel conventions are held every three years. The most recent, in May 2024, was held in Manchester, United Kingdom to celebrate 100 years of Inner Wheel in the city where it all started 100 years ago.
At these conventions members have the opportunity to meet others from around the world, participate in seminars, present and vote on proposals, hear reports from various groups and committees, socialise, be entertained, share meals and have the experience of meeting thousands of members world wide in a variety of interesting and exciting venues, cities and countries.
The 20th International Convention will be held in Manilla, Phillipines, 11th -14th May 2027.

Charity and Advocacy
National Project
to raise funds for Cord Blood Research
The Inner Wheel Australia Foundation Trust was registered in 2016. This made our National Project – Cord Blood Research a registered charity endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) which allows gifts to be tax deductible to the donor.
Representatives
at the UN
Since 1993 IIW has several representatives at the United Nations, each as an Observer on the Roster with a consultative status. They follow and assist the work sessions of the Commission regarding themes such as human rights, rights of children, conditions of women, the family, the elderly and drugs. They report to the IIW Vice President on the activities of the Committees and Conferences. They are our link with UN organisation, and in turn must report to the UN on what we do in Inner Wheel.
We currently have seven IW members accredited at the United Nations offices in Geneva, Vienna and New York.
Inner Wheel Australia Disaster Fund
Supporting local communities in times of need.
Each year many of our clubs and districts provide money from their fund raising efforts to go specifically to the Inner Wheel Australia Disaster Fund.
These funds are allocated based on a series of criteria, and where possible, provided to a ACNC (Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission) charity.
An Update:
Firstly, thank you to IWA for the funding provided to support our very close neighbours who have suffered such devastation within their small community. Half the homes and some business in the town were completely destroyed.
At the Harcourt Dinner, these beautiful flowers became a powerful symbol of hope and recovery.
The story behind them is remarkable. The lady pictured with President Deb lost everything in the January fires — her house, sheds, fences, and her beloved garden was completely destroyed. Among the devastation were two rows of dahlia bulbs. Within just a few weeks, one row began to show new growth, eventually producing the stunning flowers seen in these photos.
For the ladies present at the dinner, these blooms represented far more than flowers. They became a reminder that even after immense loss, new life, hope, and recovery can still emerge from the ashes.
Sometimes the smallest signs of growth carry the greatest meaning.

Orange the World
16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
The campaign runs from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10th (Human Rights Day).
As a women’s volunteer organisation, Inner Wheel members world wide participate by promoting the campaign, sharing information, organising activities and uniting to make the world a better place for women and girls.
Inner Wheel provides resources and tool kits to its members to support their activities.
