International
Inner Wheel
International Inner Wheel is the administrative body of Inner Wheel organisations worldwide.
Inner Wheel was founded in Manchester in January 1924 by Margarette Golding, a nurse, businesswoman, and wife of a Manchester Rotarian. She first gathered with 26 other Rotarian wives in November 1923, sparking the creation of what would become a global organization.
As the movement expanded, more clubs were established worldwide, leading to the formation of International Inner Wheel in 1967. Today, there are Inner Wheel clubs in many countries, grouped into districts. Most clubs hold monthly meetings, often featuring guest speakers, while members also meet regularly for social activities. These clubs are dedicated to raising funds and supporting a wide range of charitable causes.
Themes and Social Projects
International Inner Wheel
The purpose of having an Inner Wheel theme each year is to provide a unified vision and focus for members and clubs worldwide. It serves as a guiding principle, encouraging all members to align their efforts and initiatives with a common goal. This thematic approach helps foster unity, collaboration, and motivation among clubs, ensuring that everyone works towards a shared objective, whether it’s promoting friendship, engaging in humanitarian efforts, or supporting global causes.
The theme also acts as an inspiration, sparking new projects and activities that align with the values and mission of Inner Wheel. It empowers members to take action in their communities and beyond, creating a sense of global impact and collective responsibility. By uniting under a common theme, Inner Wheel reinforces its mission of service, friendship, and fostering international understanding, while also enhancing the sense of community and connection among its members worldwide.
